Summer Jazz School

Join instructors Stan Sabourin, Blake Palm, Terence Wendenburg, and Will Schlackl for a week of jazz instruction designed for students in grades 6-12.

Students will be placed into combos and work together with a focus on improvisational soloing, ensemble playing, and listening skills throughout the week.

Faculty Concert

7:00 PM-9:00 PM at The Hub on Martin, 260 Martin Street, Penticton, B.C.

Tickets are $10.00. Students and families are strongly encouraged to attend. Listening to professional players is a meaningful part of the learning experience, and this concert helps the school continue to operate.

Student Concert

The week wraps up with a student concert where combos share what they have been working on throughout the program.

Why It Matters

Jazzcool is one of the last summer music programs of its kind in the country. Support from families, audiences, and The Salvation Army is a key part of keeping the program going year after year.
